Orchestra Tuition for the season is $500, and Flute Choir Tuition is $350. These fees help cover program expenses, including rehearsals, concerts, masterclasses, artistic coaches, conductors, and a member T-shirt. Payment deadlines and amounts can be found in CutTime.
The ASYO strongly encourages all members to remain involved in both the ASYO and their school-affiliated string or band programs throughout the year. Each setting offers unique and complementary musical experiences that enrich both the individual musician and the ensembles they participate in.
ASYO members are recognized as leaders in our musical community. Active engagement in both ASYO and school music programs is key to their continued growth and success as musicians.
August 6th - $150 Commitment Fee Due (will be applied to your tuition)
September 8th - $175 Payment Due
October 13th - $175 Payment Due
All payments must be made in full by October 13th for students to be allowed to continue and perform on the concert.
Tuition for this season will be managed through the CutTime platform. You will receive a monthly statement showing your balance until it is paid in full. Please note there is a 3.5% fee for paying through CutTime. This is collected by CutTime and Stripe (their payment platform) and is not a fee that the ASYO can change.
You are also welcome to bring checks to any rehearsal. Checks should be made payable to Asheville Symphony Society, Inc. , placed in an envelope clearly labeled with your student’s name, and handed in at rehearsal. Checks may also be mailed to:
Asheville Symphony
27 College Place, Suite 100
Asheville, NC 28801
Please be sure to include your child’s name and ASYO Tuition in the check memo.
Please do not send cash to rehearsals. Cash payments must be made in person at the Asheville Symphony office.
If for any reason, a member is unable to continue in the program, the tuition refund schedule is as follows:
Dropout on or before Saturday, September 6, 2025: Refund of total tuition paid minus a $75 processing fee.*
Dropout on Monday, September 8, 2025 through Monday, October 13, 2025: $200 refunded.*
Dropout on/after Monday, October 13, 2025: No tuition refund.*
*Unpaid tuition will be invoiced.
Communication by a parent/guardian must be made with the General Manager directly if a member is withdrawing from the program. Just not coming to rehearsal doesn’t not constitute withdrawal.
Families are welcome to apply at any time for financial assistance if needed. The application form can be found [HERE].
Financial assistance is awarded based on demonstrated need/merit. Students who receive support are expected to remain active members of the ASYO for the entire season and, when applicable, must also participate in their school string or orchestra programs.
Recipients of financial assistance may be asked to volunteer a few hours during weekly rehearsals and are expected to attend all rehearsals and concerts throughout the season. They may also be invited to share their experiences with donors and complete an end-of-year survey.
Financial assistance awards will be communicated through a formal notification letter and recorded in CutTime. Please note that full awards are extremely limited, and families should plan to contribute a portion of the tuition cost.
